GPhC and NHS Education for Scotland appoint joint Clinical Leadership Fellow

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) have appointed Niketa Platt as their new Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellow.

The Scottish Pharmacy Clinical Leadership Fellowship scheme (SPCLF) aims to support future pharmacy leaders and take forward strategic objectives to improve the pharmaceutical care of patients in Scotland. 

Niketa Platt joins from NHS Lothian where she is the lead pharmacist in viral hepatitis. She has an extensive background within hospital pharmacy across several health boards in Scotland and has also worked in pharmacy education supporting learners at all stages.

Siobhan McGuinness, GPhC Director for Scotland, said:

“We are looking forward to having Niketa Platt working with us at the GPhC. 

“The aim is that Niketa will be working alongside GPhC teams focusing on differential attainment in pharmacy as her main project.

“Niketa has an extensive and varied experience in pharmacy, which she will be able to use to help deliver important work that can make a real difference to the future of pharmacy in Scotland.”

Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellow, Niketa Platt, said:

"It represents an excellent opportunity to gain a different pharmacy perspective and to collaborate with colleagues on a project in which I can be fully engaged.
