​GPhC Chief Pharmacy Officer is made a Royal Pharmaceutical Society Fellow

Chief Pharmacy Officer at the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), Roz Gittins, has been designated as a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) for distinction in the profession of pharmacy.

The accolade recognises the distinction members have attained in a particular aspect or aspects of their pharmacy career. As Fellowships are based on nominations from members, it also signifies the high esteem in which members are held by their peers.

The Society currently has 833 Fellows from across the profession representing a variety of sectors and career stages.  

Roz Gittins, Chief Pharmacy Officer at the General Pharmaceutical Council, said:

“I’m honoured to become a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and would like to thank those who nominated me. Whilst there are lots of exciting developments and ongoing challenges, I am keen to continue to play my part in helping to shape the future of pharmacy.”    

About Roz Gittins

Roz Gittins is the GPhC's Chief Pharmacy Officer and Deputy Registrar, and a National Clinical Advisor for the UK Addiction Healthcare Goals.  

She previously held senior leadership roles in national third sector providers and worked in the NHS and community pharmacy, winning numerous awards for her research and innovation.  

Roz is a credentialed CMHP Council member and past President, and provides expert advice, training, professional coaching and mentoring. She is an active researcher and volunteers her time for many committees such as Drug Science, and contributes to various online resources, national publications and textbooks.
